Please help, shellie was active today and about 30 minutes ago she started acting weird and has been like this ever since. I think her mantle dropped too. Any help is welcomed

Do snails eat their babies?

Posted: 23 Apr 2021 12:49 AM PDT

I had 2 gold inca snails, that had around 400 babies. They grew up and now I have them all separated in 20 tanks. Today I saw 25 egg clusters and I been wandering if 10 snails per tank can harm new born babies

Advice: regarding trumpet snails

Posted: 22 Apr 2021 06:14 PM PDT

Where would be the best place for me to get 1-3?

Every where I've looked online it's like 30 trumpet snails or much more than I want/can home.

I appreciate any feedback:)

Help keeping snails alive

Posted: 22 Apr 2021 02:19 PM PDT

I've bought three snails in the last month, (2 gold Inca and one nerite), and all three of them were active for the first couple of hours of being in my tank, and all three of them subsequently went into their shells and stayed there until they died a few days later. I don't think there's an issue with the water, as I've had a beta fish for almost a year now. (I've never seen my beta seem remotely interested in the snails either.) Any suggestions of what I might be doing wrong?

New owner, beginner questions

Posted: 22 Apr 2021 10:00 AM PDT

Hello! I am new to aquariums and snails and have a few questions. I started cycling my tank a little over a week ago, I read snails were ok in cycling tanks so I brought one home to help with algae, but afterwards read snails are not ok with ammonia. Will it be ok? I have a black racing nerite. Snail is still active at night, but buries himself in the day. Last ammonia reading was 2 but it was around 3 earlier, temperature 76-78, ph 7.4, kh was 5, gh at 12. Prior gh was 9, I did a water change and I will use different water next time so it doesn't swing up so much. Is too high kh and gh bad for snails? Also what kind of hides do you guys use? I have some in the tank but he prefers to bury himself or hang out under the heater or sponge filter during the day. Any tiny ones you can recommend?Anything else I need to consider? Thanks for reading

Will bladder snails harm mystery snails?

Posted: 22 Apr 2021 07:53 AM PDT

So long story short a bladder population has happened in my mysterys tank. It was totally fine at first, but the more I see their numbers grow the more I'm worried if they possibly could be doing things like eating away at the mysterys shells or picking at the mysterys skin. If I need I can move the bladders to a different tank (don't want to kill them) it's just a temp difference in it is all. Or do you guys think it's still okay them being in with the mysterys? I think the bladders are actually really pretty and cute little guys, just want there to be a balance.

Eggs?

Posted: 22 Apr 2021 07:50 AM PDT

I recently added some malaysian trumpets, bladder and ramshorn snails to my tank. They were all active on the first day but are now all in their shell and I don’t understand why...any clue?

Posted: 22 Apr 2021 07:32 AM PDT

I want to bring a bunch of ramshorns to a coworker, and am wondering what the best way to 'house' them for the 9-10 hrs that they won't be in a tank.

Not shipping, so I can keep things upright and whatnot if necessary.

I was thinking a ziploc baggie, but am concerned about O2 levels and temperature.

He lives close enough, it might just be 4-5 hrs until he can get home for lunch.
