How far should i space Fishing line over my koi pond to protect from hawks? I am doing a zig zag pattern and going about a foot to 18 inches between each line. Is this to close? What's the science behind this? Does anyone here use fishing line to protect from predators?

I'm planning/ designing my first koi pond to be built this summer (planning on about 1,000 gallon pond).

Shopping around there's so many product options to choose from, I'm wondering if anyone has any favorite brands/ good quality recommendations, when it comes to supplies (lining, pumps, filters, etc)??

Any recommendations or tips will be greatly appreciated!
