Nerite snail hardiness and lifespan Posted: 13 Mar 2021 06:54 AM PST So my nanotank had a catastrophic algal bloom which was my fault as I've not been able to maintain the upkeep as well as I should due to our first child being born very premature. Anyhow, my tank was very basic, just plants, gravel and sand substrate and a single zebra nerite. I've had the nerite over 3 years and I've just discovered while moving the tank it had escaped and appeared to have dried out. I've put it new water and amazingly it's coming around and is still alive!! Given there was dust on the shell it had been out the tank at least a couple of weeks. I've done some reading and all the info I've found my nerite appears to be past it's "normal lifespan" anyway. What are other people's experiences of nerites and how long they live? Posted: 13 Mar 2021 03:25 PM PST Hello everyone, I have a 7.5 gallon tank with a single honey gourami. My tank was difficult to get off the ground and my plants suffered. Now I'm trying to deal with brown algae on the leaves. I'm looking for a fish that will help to eat the brown algae off of the plants and can coexist with a honey. Any suggestions? BTW: I've already tried cherry shrimp. My honey ate some of them and now I have only one. :( [link] [comments] |
