How long can two small comets stay in a 20 gallon? Posted: 18 Mar 2021 02:55 PM PDT Hi, before you chew me out please read! I had my two comets in a 75 gallon tank that started to leak really bad so I put them in an old 20 gallon(long) tank that I had. I was debating on buying them a new 75 gallon tank but I'm in the middle of building them a pond so I think it would be a waste to buy a new tank that I'll never use once the pond is built. My quesiton is would it be okay to keep these two comets in a 20 gallon for about a month while I get the pond ready? They're quite small, I'd say less then an inch. [link] [comments]

My Black Moors eye is bigger than the other Posted: 18 Mar 2021 10:04 PM PDT Hey guys! New here. I decided to see if anyone had any input on this. About 3 weeks ago I noticed my Black Moor's eye getting bigger. The only thing I could really find online was "Popeye" but he doesn't seem to be sick or impacted by it at all. I have about 4 other fish including a Pleco, but none of them nip or bully each other, so I don't think it's an injury either. The tank is a 55 gal. It's been running stable with a heater, pump and all the other stuff fishes need for over 10 months now. I've done a 60% water change and changed the cartridges twice by now. I also syphon the gravel ever other week. I wanted to add some more info on my fish... I've had him for about a year and a half now. He was really sick when I got him. He had Ick growing on him, his eyes were cloudy, and had a case of anchor worm. It took a lot of work to nurse him back to health. Even to the point where I've held him and pull out the anchor worms with tweezers myself. I really appreciate any input on this. It doesn't worry me too much since it doesn't seem to impact him at all. But if there is anything I can do I'm determined to help him. Here is a little video of him with his eye - https://drive.google.com/file/d/1uQo47RhMU2aVobWJK88hDg50_P9bWWV0/view?usp=drivesdk [link] [comments]

Is a 14 inch bubble bar going to be too much for my goldies? Posted: 18 Mar 2021 06:20 PM PDT I bought an 8 inch bubble bar from the store, the pump and the tubing, etc but when I got home my bar was broken so I took it back and they gave me a 14 inch bar because they had no more of my chosen in stock. It's a 55 Gal with a 100 gal rated marineland power filter. Is the bar going to be too much? Is there a such thing? Should I just wait till they have more of the smaller in stock? Adding: My two commons are about 4.5 ish inches at the moment. Recently moved into the 55 gal following a complete tank cycle. [link] [comments]

Is there such thing as over-filtering? Posted: 18 Mar 2021 09:48 AM PDT Im planning to get the All Pond Solutions 1000EF External Filter for a 125L but I'm not sure if that filter would over the top for a tank that size? Any advice/tips is greatly appreciated :) [link] [comments]
Posted: 18 Mar 2021 02:15 PM PDT I own a Comet Goldfish and a fancy one. The Comet is quite bigger than the fancy one . When I introduced the fancy to the Comet they were together all the time. Especially the fancy was following the other one. This happened for 1 year. The last months I noticed that every time I feed them the Comet is being aggressive. Only the feeding time. After I've noticed that the fancy had adopted that behaviour too. Now it looks like a ritual. Most of the times the Comet is nibbling the fancy, when they are encountered. The fancy too but no so often. What's going on? Should I increase the amount of the given food? [link] [comments]
Can I use a water conditioner that is not specifically for goldfish but is for fresh and sea water? Posted: 18 Mar 2021 02:12 PM PDT Sorry if the answer is obvious, but I'm new to aquariums. I'm wondering if it's safe to use a generic water conditioner since there are many made specifically for goldfish. Does it make a difference? Or is it jusy marketing? [link] [comments]
