- almost a year apart!
- I've been told that white spots can be either ich or wen growth, and my new girl has spots but only on her head. She came about three days ago from goldfish island with no spots, and I know they do a weeklong quarantine before shipping. She's completely healthy aside from this, so ich or wen growth?
- Well, the "ich" situation was over fortunately soon, as GFI saw the pictures and told us it was most likely wen growth and was harmless. So, now that I had to take these fancy pictures anyways, here she is!
- Finally cleared up after doing a 3/4 water change
- (NOT MY FISH) I was able to convince my coworker to return them but the stores are closed & I don’t think they’ll even make it that long would they?

Posted: 19 Mar 2021 08:15 PM PDT So I rescued a goldfish from a bowl. It is for a friend and they just got it. It is not stunted but its in kinda a bad shape. Should I keep it in a 20 gallon cycled while I quarantine it then return to my LFS or do the same thing in a 60 uncycled? Thanks. [link] [comments]
Keeping good parameters for cheap Posted: 19 Mar 2021 11:11 PM PDT How do y'all keep your hardness up while keeping your nitrates down? If I'm doing a lot of water changes to keep my nitrates down, how do I keep replenishing my minerals without breaking the bank? [link] [comments]

In need of some reassurance whilst dealing with ich. Posted: 19 Mar 2021 08:02 PM PDT Hi everybody! So I have ich in my tank. The tank is well established with 0ppm ammonia 0ppm nitrite and 10ppm nitrate before my last water change this afternoon. I have been following the wiki's instructions of putting the temp up to 85 degrees and putting 3 teaspoons per gallon of aquarium salt in the tank as well. This is my fourth day dealing with ich and I just want to make sure I am doing the right thing. No medications have been used. I have been doing a water change every other day. The fish I found ich on originally seems to be getting worse (still acting normal, eating fine, just finding more spots), while the other fish doesn't have any white on him at all and is acting just fine. I just need reassurance that I am doing the right thing, and if not, I need advice on what to change. Oh, I forgot to mention I have two fancy goldfish ( one pearlscale the infected, and a a fantail who seems to be immune). They are in a 40 gallon. Thanks for any advice!! [link] [comments]

Permanent swim bladder disorder? Posted: 19 Mar 2021 12:41 PM PDT Hey everyone! I've had my fancy tail (I hope that's the right English name) for over probably 4-5 years now. He has been having swim bladder issues his whole life. He struggles for a week, then is fine again for like a month and so on. The last 2weeks have been bad again. He can swim and eat perfectly but as soon as he sits still, he turns upside down. I've tried salt baths, peas, literally everything. Water quality is good and I feed him food that sinks. I have a filter and air pump. Is it possible that he has a permanent disorder? If so, is there anything I can do to help him with this? We don't have vets specialized in fish here or I'd have to ask my parents to drive over an hour which they're not willing to do. So that isn't an option unfortunately. [link] [comments]

Posted: 19 Mar 2021 08:13 AM PDT Hey everyone! I am moving to a house that's around 45 minutes to an hour away from where I currently live and I don't know exactly how to transport my black moor Poe. Poe is huge, about the size of a computer mouse, and in 40 gallon tank. I still have his 10 gallon from when he was a fry and will put him in that for a day or two while I move his home to the new house and get the tank set up for him. My issue is how do I move Poe? Do I get a bag like when I first got him? Will he be ok in a car for that long? I'm definitely nervous, I don't want to over stress him. What's the best way for transport? [link] [comments]

Posted: 19 Mar 2021 07:03 AM PDT I have one out of my three fish that looks like she has ich on her wen, so should I move just her or all of them to the quarantine tank (so I can nuke it with high temps, etc)? My main reservation is that I don't know if using SeaChem Paraguard is dangerous for fish that don't have an infection. [link] [comments] |
