Unsure on feeding schedule

I got my first Axie about three weeks ago, and I've been feeding them red wigglers. The worms are about as long as the axie, maybe a bit shorter, so they seem like quite a large meal to feed them every single day like the breeder instructed? Should I be feeding them a worm almost as long as them every day? Or should it be every other? Maybe wait until after they poop each time?

I'm looking for a good brand of ultra fine contra-soil so I could use just one layer of substrate. Just wanted to hear from other axolotl owners and your experiences using it

update after my lotl jumped out of her tub

in a prior post i mentioned how my axolotl jumped about 2 feet onto my carpet during a water change. she was immediately put back into the water and so far i don't see any issues except for a small scratch on her tail. she is walking around normally and acting the same as she usually would.

that being said, this happened three days ago and she has not eaten since. shes typically pretty hungry and will stare at me until i feed her lol, so it's a bit concerning that she's refusing to eat now. is this to be expected after a fall like that? i'm kinda freaking out so any advice is appreciated, thank you in advance!

I thought my tank was cycled but after a week of having my axolotl in the ammonia/nitrite have risen. I thought cause I had nitrates that they would stay at zero? I always clean out uneaten food and poop and did a 20% water change last night. Help please!
