Little snail seems to approve of his new friend. Probably helps that the friend is covered in delicious algae.

Do Snails eat duckweed?

Posted: 10 Mar 2021 10:32 PM PST

I have a 5 gallon tank with a beta, 3 mystery snails, and a nerite (and some tiny pond snails and MTS). I put duckweed in that tank and my 20 gallon fish tank. the duck weed seems to be multiplying in the fish tank, but in the snail (and beta) tank, it seems to be disappearing. are the snails eating it?,

Can you store snello in the freezer?

Posted: 10 Mar 2021 02:51 PM PST

I accidentally made way too much for my 4 mystery snails. I saw jello gets weird when frozen online, but idk if snello gets weird enough that it just disperses in the water, or if it's just a bit more squishy in texture.

Advice please!!! This is Aura, I’ve posted her picture several times, and I’m just using it now for attention. I set up a new rimless tank that cannot be covered, are there any snail species that won’t climb out of a rimless tank?

7 or so clutches, hundreds of snails later, I finally have a gold baby growing up! The dad was the big banded guy in the top left of the second pic and both moms were gold snails. You can see how most of the other babies turned out in both pics lol love these guys

When I purchased this tank, I wasn’t aware of the small gap in the front. Do you think mystery snails would be able to escape? Obviously, my tank isn’t quite ready for them yet! But I don’t want to put them in at all if there’s a chance they might escape and die :(

Advice for coping with the death of our tiny friends?

Posted: 10 Mar 2021 09:27 AM PST

I lost my favorite snail recently due to a freak accident in my tank (cover up your intake filters guys :''( ) and I feel really guilty and sad. Do you guys have anything special you do (either for yourself or for the passed tiny friend) when your tiny friend passes onto the underwater rainbow bridge? Or if you want to share some memories of your passed tiny friends I welcome them! <3

Nerite snail questions

Posted: 10 Mar 2021 08:38 AM PST

I have a zebra nerite snail, Oscar, and he is going on 4 years old. Everything I can find online says they only have a lifespan of 1-2 years... How much longer should I expect? My betta died a couple days ago (RIP Elmo), and my mom is trying to give my fish tank away, because "why would you keep it for just a snail?" I really want Oscar to continue thriving, partially out of spite.

I'm afraid the tank is staying too clean without Elmo, and that Oscar won't have enough to eat. I've ordered snail food off amazon.. Any other tips for helping him thrive now that he's alone in his tank?
