I made a time lapse while setting up my new nano tank! Once cycled, I’ll be stocking with a wild betta mahachai and maybe some armano shrimps! Let me know what you think.

How do people get such bushy dense growth like these pics without the center of the bushes dying?

I was cleaning my tank and discovered my Hillstream Loaches laid eggs! This is the tiniest baby! - in a 14 gal Aqueon Frameless Cube with 1 male and 1 female mom and dad! Yay! I'm so excited! Had no clue they were "this" happy!

A better view of my little 10Gal planted tank. I’m really enjoying and pleased with the simplicity of the layout.

Hello there

Has anyone made a tank into a paludarium by making 3 sides higher?

Posted: 22 Nov 2020 10:42 PM PST

When I see paludariums, the glass or acrylic on the sides always is one piece going all the way up. I have a rimmed 10 gallon that I'd love to have some mosses and other plants that emerge above the water but I don't want to lower the water level. If I silicone 3 pieces of glass together so it fits snugly on the inside rim of the tank so 3 sides are higher but the front is still open (or has a 4th skinny piece attached for stability). If I place some wicking material most of the way up those sides and extend it down into the tank, it seems like that could be a poor man's paludarium but I haven't seen that done before. Any examples out there or reasons why it wouldn't work? As long as it sits on the inside of the tank rim, I don't think it would leak from any wicking. Will this end badly if I try it? I'm thinking it's like adding a second story to a house but one that won't weight much.
