| Color Enhancing Foods for Bronze Goldfish? Posted: 06 Nov 2020 08:45 PM PST What do you feed your bronze goldfish to really bring out the bronze/gold shine? I don't know if I should use red, yellow, or green enhancing foods... [link] [comments] | ||

| This may be a silly question, but whatever, I'm taking my shot Posted: 06 Nov 2020 09:53 PM PST I understand why there is a minimum tank size for goldfish. You need to give them enough space to swim around freely and enough water that they aren't swimming in their own concentrated excrement all day long. My question is: Is there a maximum tank size? If I only have one goldfish, is there a size to the tank where it gets dangerous to the fish? I can't honestly think of why an oversized tank could be harmful. It's just a thought that occurred to me. Purely hypothetical, don't worry, I'm just interested in goldfish, I don't even have any. [link] [comments] | ||
| Posted: 06 Nov 2020 11:54 PM PST I have two oranda's and I'm moving soon. The trip is happening all in one day. Is it easier for them to get in a 5 gallon bucket or should I get bags from my local pet store? Thanks! [link] [comments] | ||

| New Goldfish with Disease already? Posted: 06 Nov 2020 04:15 PM PST So I went to an aquarium store in my area and paid $60 for two Red Fantail Goldfish to my brand new aquarium. It's a 55 gallon aquarium. There was a smaller one and there's a bigger one. The smaller one died last night, the bigger one worries me because he floats in the bottom corner of the aquarium. The smaller one had white spots on day 2 of owning him. I applied Nox-Ich to the aquarium but he died anyways (I'm not even sure if he had Ich). Now I see the larger goldfish has a bacterial infection. I just applied the last dose of Nox-Ich yesterday. I took a sample of my water to the aquarium store and they suggested I add some beneficial bacteria (somewhat high ammonia level) and they suggested I add the antibacterial medication. Now I'm stuck with the question, should I start dosing the bacterial infection medication right away? Or give some time since I just applied the Nox-Ich? I don't want to over stress the fish. | Comet Goldfish breathing rapidly... advice needed Posted: 06 Nov 2020 04:36 AM PST my new Comet goldfish (6-12 months old) has been in a quarantine 10-gallon tank for two weeks. at first, he was swimming all over the tank looked healthy. Two weeks later he is barely moving anywhere and is mostly in one place. Opening and closing his mouth very rapidly. He's eating his food normally. During these two weeks, I change 50% of the water every 3-4 days. Then he started moving to the top so I added an airstone strip. Nothing changed. The aquarium has no top cover. The only explanation I've found is that there's too much water conditioner that could bind the oxygen. is there anything else I missed? how can I remove the extra water conditioner? Tank details: 10 Gallons, black sand substrate, hornwort, amazon swords, internal filter, airstone strip, temp is 68f. [link] [comments] | ||
