Are these white spots on my goldfish ich?

Posted: 01 Nov 2020 07:14 PM PST

Is this dropsy or is my fish just bloated or stressed out? Found him sitting at the bottom of the tank this morning. No popeye. Eats normally eats more than the other fish matter of fact. Should I be worried or no?

Water conditioner

Posted: 01 Nov 2020 06:42 PM PST

Is aqusafe a good water conditioner? My parents put their fish in tap water and forgot to treat their water and ate suffering from chlorine and ammonia poisoning. The aquarium smells heavy of chlorine. Will a water change and a bit of this help them? Seachem prime was what I was going for but both petco and petsmart are closed. Pet stores aren't easy to find in Chicago southside so those were my only options. Any input would help. Thanks.

Over cleaning

Posted: 01 Nov 2020 09:57 PM PST

It seems I might've over cleaned my tank. I bought a pouch of tetra cleaning bacteria to restart the bacteria. It saws it regulates ammonia. Is it safe or no? Never heard of it but it was what my store had and I was desperate.

I’ve found some Goldfish Fry, any advice? Please read my comment

Shrubbery (fantail) has some sort of whitish yellow film over one of his eyes. The other goldies are fine. Water quality was not great- I went on vacation and they didn't get a water change in 11 days because my sitter wasn't willing to do one. I just did a 90% change.

Comet goldfish, illness or old age?

5 weeks of cycling

Posted: 01 Nov 2020 01:47 PM PST

I'm new to goldfish and tank cycling. The cycling is definitely a long and frustrating process. Right now my water levels are ammonia- .25ppm nitrite- 5ppm and nitrates- 40ppm.

My question is should I clean the algae from my tank and sand? I have moss balls and they have shed all over my tank. My tank looks very green and dirty.

Thanks

White spots and holes on fins

Posted: 01 Nov 2020 01:07 PM PST

It has been a couple days now and one of my goldfish appears to have very tiny holes on his fins and some sparse white spots on his fins. He lays at the bottom of the tank for a bit but gets up and acts normally when I am around. He eats normally and acts normally the majority of the time. He looks healthy and so far he's the only one who's had it. Could it be an injury or is it something else. There's about 6 other fish in the tank and none have shown any signs of anything. Ruled out it was ich within a day or two. Could be something fungal. I saw a video recently where something that resembled the spots on my fish's fish were fractures from an injury. Could it be fin rot or something that'll fix itself with time? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Salts

Posted: 01 Nov 2020 09:48 AM PST

I've heard that pure sodium chloride like kosher can have the same effects as aquarium salt if not better. Is this true? Also the kosher I bought has a anti caking agent so idk if it's safe for my fish.
