Please help! Do I need a cooler? Posted: 22 Nov 2020 03:56 AM PST Hi Axolotl owners, my sister is having an issue and I thought you might be able to help. She is a student with not much $$ and is concerned she needs a cooler. She lives in an apartment in Australia so we are coming into summer and there's no place to hide him or keep him cool as they don't have aircon. (Last summer she lived with our folks who have aircon) She's got the tank down to 21 degrees by putting chilled water bottles in it. Are there any other tricks? Should she save up and get a cooler? Any help / advice would be so appreciated. Thank you! [link] [comments]

I’ve been under-informed as to how to care for an axolotl Posted: 21 Nov 2020 04:30 PM PST I got my axolotl at a pet store and the guy working seemed to know what he's talking about but after reading some posts on here I feel like he gave me next to no information. For example after setting up my tank he told me I didn't have to wait longer than an hour after putting in the products to promote healthy bacteria or the water conditioner to put my axolotl in his new home, now I'm seeing all these posts about cycling, ammonia, ph balances and nitrate. Can someone explain these terms to me and inform me on what routine/maintenance I should be doing to keep my tank clean and axolotl happy. (Note: my axolotl seems happy, he swims regularly and eats regularly) [link] [comments]
Posted: 21 Nov 2020 07:08 PM PST Hi all so I've had my 2 axolotls for over a year now and my first for about 2 years, recently my mel lotl laid eggs! I would have felt awful getting rid of them and decided to hatch and sell them. They have all hatched at this point and are doing well, I have about 75 I think. Does anyone have any tips or advice on selling as they'll most likely be ready in January. I really appreciate any advice! [link] [comments] |
