My snello recipe

Posted: 08 Nov 2020 05:55 PM PST

I made some snello from what I had on hand. 1 zucchini 1/4 cup broccoli 1 carrot 2 tablespoons of fish flakes 1 packet of gelatin

So far they like it and also have access to a vacation feeding block and cuttlebone for calcium.

Does that sound good enough? They enjoyed eating it last night!

Is this common?

Nerite snail: does my tank need more calcium? I have two snails in a 5.5 gallon tank with a filter, I had a betta with them but it recently died. Now I’ve noticed this happening on both of my snail... do I need to add more calcium to the water? And if so what is a good product to use?

Mystery Snail eggs fell in water

Posted: 09 Nov 2020 01:25 AM PST

So my big blue girl, Phyllis, has been mating with my 2 males a lot lately and yesterday laid a lovely perfect small clutch above the water line and it's doing great! But just now, she laid a much larger clutch and it must have just been too large to stick to the glass properly because I found the entire clutch in the water (she had been out of the water on the glass of the tank all night so I knew she would likely lay, and ive been checking on her a lot. The last time I saw her she was on the glass but hadn't yet started laying. Within an hour, she had completely laid all the eggs and I misses it all). My question is, will the eggs have a fighting chance? I was only able to save about half of the eggs, and they were clumped together and seemed to still be in good condition. They couldn't have been in the water for more than 20-30 minutes if I account for the time it takes for her to have laid the eggs. I know that if they are in the water too long they deteriorate, because that happened one before, and these eggs look far better than those ones did! TIA!

Beer eases final moments for euthanized invertebrates, study finds

I think josh is dying... is there any way to tell? I know the smell and all but if I pick him up he goes back in his shell, but then will slump back out after. His trunk looks to be shriveled up. I recently had babies hatch thus the dirty surroundings.
