Shrimp avoiding plants like the plague! Help!

Posted: 18 Oct 2020 10:00 PM PDT

I've recently just started up my first ever shrimp tank with cherries and have planted it with Christmas moss, java fern, and another type of plant (kind of looks like grass, forgetting the name at the moment). The tank has been fully cycled, and water parameters are what they should be at, but for some reason my shrimp just avoid the plants like the plague! The moss/fern are attached to some driftwood using some kind of plant super glue i bought, and the grass(?) is just planted directly into the substrate. They won't touch any of the plants at all for some reason! They just like to chill on either the substrate or the exposed part of the wood. Would there be any reason as to why they are doing this? I thought it was the glue at first, but they are also avoiding the grass plant in the substrate, which has none. Help! Edit: the grass plant is lilaeopsis brasiliensis!
