- Feed me motherrrr
- This is Dante. Saved him from being bait at my local corner market. Currently ordering a new tank for him.
- Immortalized my boy by uploading his pic into his species article in Wikipedia
- My pretty fish!
- This is Gomez. She has Ich and I have a lot of questions (mostly relating to hospital tanks and water changes)
- New Ryukin(?) Goldfish
- My panda is floating on his side barely breathing. The tank has been suffering from fin rot so they have been being treated for it but today he seems he has taken a turn for the worst and I’m not sure what to do.
- is it possible to use too much conditioner?
- Tank mate for my Shubunkin
- What is this?
- Dropsy? Is it too late? :(
- Here’s Macklemore! He’s settling in nicely!
- New family members, trying to figure out all I can since they all seem so different

is it possible to use too much conditioner? Posted: 12 Oct 2020 02:17 PM PDT small question about water changes. After I drain the water with my pump, I refill the tank using a small 3 gallon tank I have, and I treat the water ~before~ adding it to the tank. But, I get nervous sometimes that I might be too generous with the water conditioner (unsure if this is possible but i fill from the tap) since im not filling it directly from my sink and it takes me like ten minutes/3 trips to the sink to fill my tank up, should i keep treating the water each time i fill the 3 gal or just add it at the end? just wondering if its possible to use too much of that stuff and have the water actually be worse for the fish [link] [comments] | ||
Posted: 12 Oct 2020 10:35 AM PDT I recently got a new tank for my guy Stumpy. However he's not so stumpy any more. He got the name because when I got him from the pet shop and he had most of his fins missing (from being attacked by other fish I assume) and was a mottled grey colour so I figured no-one else would want him and I didn't want him just dying there. Anyway all his fins grew back and he's now a pretty big fish. About 9-10 inches nose to tail. Now that I'm moving him to a new tank with a bit more space, I'm thinking he might like another fish in there with him. Not necessarily another Shubunkin, but some company. I don't know, do fish get lonely? So just wondering what fish might go with a fairly large Shubunkin in a 160L/35gal tank? Or should he be left on his own? I don't want him attacking or eating whatever tank mates I get for him. Any advice appreciated. If it helps I'm in the UK, don't know if different countries have different species available? Thanks EDIT: I got the automod response. My main concern is since he's a lot bigger than another fish I'd get from the pet store, if I for another comet, Shubunkin etc, would it get bullied by him?
