Is my crayfish dying?

I have a male blue freshwater crayfish. We got him at PetCo about 9 months ago. He has been perfectly fine and just now, I noticed him upside down not moving. I got worried and got the net and scooped him up and he was perfectly fine then. When I put him back in, he went back upside down. Also, I'm not sure if he is molting because his shell is hard and there is no signs of shell separation. He has not molted in about a month now. Is he dying?
