Always check your suction cups before resticking.

Posted: 17 Sep 2020 05:06 AM PDT

So, yesterday, I was passing by the 75 gallon community tank and noticed one of my heater suction cups was off the glass. I reached in real fast without bothering to think and just pushed it back on the glass and went about my business.

Well, I was doing the evening feeding and said, "what's that between the suction cup and the glass?"

It was a cherry shrimp. They'd gotten behind the cup and I turned them into abstract art. Always check your loose cups before refitting.

This has been a public service announcement.

Shrimp not breeding

Posted: 18 Sep 2020 12:30 AM PDT

I've been having trouble breeding my red cherry shrimps; I've had them since early may (3 months now) I have 8 shrimps and feed them every 2-3 days. My feeding just depends if they have eaten the algae wafer I put in there. The algae wafer is 40% protein. I have crushed coral in the tank to make sure they are getting enough calcium. There is a lot of hiding places for the shrimp (plants kind of overtook the tank lol so hiding places aren't a problem.

Water parameter:
ph: 6.8-7.2
: 120ish
TDS: 250
Temp: 76F
Nitrite: 0
Nitrate: 0
