Stubborn axie keeps spitting out worms

Hey guys, I've tried to feed my axie night crawlers and red wigglers, but he keeps spitting them out. I thought maybe they were too big for him, so I'd cut them up but he still spits them out. Any ideas on how to get him to like them?

My baby axolotl of 3 centimeters.

It's kind of hard to feed him. He eats but sometimes he doesn't seem to want to. I try feeding him 2 times per day. Now he seems like he doesn't want it. Is this common? In general he eats but there's 12 hours since he ate and he doesn't seem to want it.

Been a while since I've posted, bubs is massive and fingers I believe is in fact female thats where she got her name. "Fingers crossed its a girl" they get along great and leave each other alone most of the time in my 33 long. Love them so much!
