Aquatic Snails Purple parking only.... |
- Purple parking only....
- Say hi to Goldie Hawn. I am not sure why she is posting for the camera, but it's awesome. I'm new to snails and have some questions in the comments.
- Pond snail egg sack!
- Do pond snails usually get this big?
- Apparently my snails have been busy.
- Is this a male?
- Mystery Snail newborn babies!! Just wanted to share how cute they are c:
- nerite snail
- My new babies (peasized) from an awesome local trader, I'm in love with the colours
- Do I feed it?
- Ivory ramhorn or is it just a sick pink?
- Mystery snail sick or hurt
- Okay, so I've had these guys for a few weeks, and *supposedly* they're all male, however I've noticed my goldshell climbing all over this one pretty much 24/7 and now I'm wondering if this is actually a female? Sorry for the picture quality, my camera refuses to focus.
- Should I let these mature or harvest young like their supposed to for my snails? (Whole story in comments)
- Help!! I bought this snail today and he is floating, I tried putting it on the rocks and walls of the aquarium but he doesn't gets attached, is he sick or is this normal ?
- New tank mates
- Introducing mama snail to babies
- Snail babies
- I woke up to find this in the morning. What's going on here? I thought mystery snails didn't eat plants.
- Blue mystery snail, Phyllis, chows down on shrimp pellet
- My mystery snail laid a full clutch recently, and then she laid this tiny leftover clutch. In the full clutch every single snail hatched and at the same time. In this one, a total of four have hatched many days apart. How does this happen?
- A snail for a betta tank

| Posted: 26 Sep 2020 07:33 PM PDT (I made a post yesterday but decided to make a separate one) My snail had been acting oddly for two days now. He isn't moving much and he gets into a 'sitting' position (where it looks like he's sitting upright on the tip of his foot). In this position his antennaes with me slightly out or tightly curled. His breathing tube is also poking out a tiny bit. He does go to the surface tho for air. He was floating this afternoon. He doesn't appear swollen and I see no visible damage on him. There is occasionally a small amount of whispy white discharge trailing away from him tho. I have no way of testing my water for copper (and no idea how to treat it for copper). I've had the snail since August and I can tell he's fully grown. I've only bern giving him algae tablets because I thought they only needed that (ordered food online which will be coming soon). Should I float him in a cup so he's close to the surface? Edit: the standing position is the same one that a mystery snail does when it looks like they're holding onto an algae wafer. | Posted: 26 Sep 2020 02:21 PM PDT My mystery snail tank only has snails in it, thus the name. I was wondering if anyone knows of what other aquatic animals I can put in the 5gallon tank with them to liven it up a little bit. I was recommended ghost shrimp by a pet store in my area but their waiting on the shipment. I don't want an animal that will bother or stress out my snails. I had them in a 30gallon with goldfish before and the goldfish always bit at their antennas and they always hid in their shells because of that. [link] [comments] | ||
| Introducing mama snail to babies Posted: 26 Sep 2020 02:18 PM PDT My mystery snail laid a large clutch over a week ago. The babies are all doing well and growing in an extra tank. The mother since then has laid a couple clutches improperly and they fell in the water. I feel really bad for her. She must think that all her efforts are for not. I want to introduce her to the baby snails. Eventually some of them will join her when they are big enough to not be eaten. They are still really small but I'm wondering if it would be good for the mama snail. The hatchery tank is not nearly as spectacular as her current home, so I would probably feel the need to move her back into the big tank after a day or so with the babies. Would this be more traumatic to move her to a different environment and then separate her again from her babies? Or would the mother appreciate knowing that she was successful? [link] [comments] | ||
| Posted: 26 Sep 2020 02:14 PM PDT My snails have laid too many clutches and I have too many babies. If anyone is interested please let me know. Or if anyone knows how I should go about getting rid of them or giving them away or selling them that would be great. Their yellow with brown stripes. Aquatic mystery snails. I don't know exactly what kind. [link] [comments] | ||

| Posted: 26 Sep 2020 10:19 AM PDT Hello! One of my bettas is a habitual fin biter. I have done everything to reduce pretty much all stress and he still bites. I'm guessing he started biting due to stress in the cup and at this point it has just become habit for him. The only thing I have not tried is giving him a tankmate to distract him. As I don't want to risk anything nipping at his fins more than he already does himself, I'm considering a snail. He lives in a cycled 5.5 gal that gets 50% water changes weekly. I don't have any experiences with betta tank mates. What species of snail is best? Is there a way to tell male from female (I'd really prefer a male as I don't want to deal with eggs if there is a way to avoid it)? How do I feed them? I know they are algae eaters. This tank has an infestation of brown algae currently, but do I also need to provide algae wafers? Is there anything else I need to feed them? I was recommended to check this sub out by a user over on r/bettafish. Thank you for any help in advance! [link] [comments] |
