- I noticed I got some ramshorns with some plants. Their shells are quite transparent, after some research I've put in pieces of cuttlefish bone, and I boil some spinach and replace it once they've eaten it all. Anything else I should be doing?
- Yo what dat mouth do
- Can someone tell me what color this lad is? I have an over abundance of ramshorns and this guy stood out to me.
- All three of my babies in one picture I love it!!
- Cuttlefish for snails
- Mystery snail hasn’t moved in about 2-3 days. I’ve heard sometimes it’s normal for them to go up to 8-10 days without moving. Is it possible she is laying eggs, or just decided to take a long nap? Tanks specs in comments

Legal to ship Mystery Snails across US? Posted: 24 Sep 2020 06:35 PM PDT I was wondering if anyone knew if its legal to mail Mystery Snails offspring (parents bought from Petsmart) to potential buyers across the US? I did some research that either it was illegal without a permit for out-of-state shipping or that it was completely fine without as the regulation needing a permit was lifted, but both sources were from a decade ago or so. Thus I am not sure of the accuracy of information from those forums. Anyone know? [link] [comments]
Mystery Snails Making Babies with no Egg Sack? Posted: 24 Sep 2020 12:43 PM PDT The title says it all. I was under the assumption they laid eggs on the upper sides of the tank, and have even seen the eggs sacks of snails past. Yet, these "Mystery Snails" constantly produce young with no egg sack. My first thought is they've just been mislabeled, but I'm curious what you all's experience has been. Are they better at concealing them than I realized? Were they holding onto their babies? They look like mystery snails, and were sold as such, yet seem to have entirely different reproductive habits than what I've come to expect. I am confused, please help. [link] [comments]

How do I get my mystery snails to breed? Posted: 24 Sep 2020 10:55 AM PDT Hi, I currently have two mystery snails, one golden and one ivory, and I'm considering breeding them and selling the clutches to make some side money. There's a lot of good informational videos out there about mystery snail breeding, but I still have a lot of questions. How do I tell if my mystery snails are male or female? My golden is much smaller than my ivory, but they've never shown much interest in breeding with each other, but I've also never lowered my water levels before, so maybe once I do that then they'll give it a go? (my ivory is also quite lazy, so maybe its just an attitude problem on his/her end) Also, not that I'm going to keep their babies, but what color would ivory x golden mystery offspring even be? How much could I sell the clutch for? Any help/advice is greatly appreciated! Thanks! [link] [comments] |
