- Is he singing or just hungry?
- Koi
- Koi at my local fish store. Absolutely beautiful!
- I'm 3-4 mile away from one of the massive CA wildfires and my small pond is catching a lot of ash, any danger to the Koi short or long term?

| Posted: 16 Sep 2020 07:06 PM PDT It's not a huge amount of ash...but my filters have never been more discolored even after cleaning them (I'm cleaning them out once a week now). The water has a brown tinge but still very clear. If my pond was larger, I wouldn't worry about it, but it's only 350-400 gallons. The solution to pollution is dilution, but I can't dilute anymore. Smokey conditions will likely last at least another week, probably three. I have 3 koi and 3 goldfish, the goldfish are virtually invincible from my experience, but my Koi are definitely not. The Koi seem happy and healthy for now. Should I be worried about water quality? (also my Koi and I are not in danger from the actual fire in case anyone wonders.) [link] [comments] |
