Floating snail, and other strange habits. Please help! Posted: 02 Aug 2020 09:22 PM PDT I have three snails, Junji (very large, black mystery snail), Itō (medium, black myster snail), and Data (small/medium, blue mystery snail). I got Junji and Itō together and they were alone for a while, then I got Data a few weeks ago and put him in with them. For a little while now (like a good >2 weeks) Itō will NOT stop floating!! I've tried everything! And the other two don't do it, so I know it's not the water! (I've checked it over and over again!) and it's not the food, so I don't know why. He refuses to stick to the side of the tank or any of the decor either! I try to stick him on it and he just hops off and floats again! He is definitely alive so I don't know why he's doing! I know snails can float for fun but for multiple weeks? Is it really /that/ fun? There's nothing else in the tank except these three snails so I don't know what could possibly be enticing him to float. And Data and Junji have been practically inseparable since I put them in there together. They sleep next to each other, and crawl over each other and eat the algae off each other's shells. It's pretty cute, so that's very nice, but now Junji is obsessed with trying to escape? He keeps climbing up out of the water, I've been inching him back into the water but he wants to be out??? I've checked and the water parameters are fine! But he keeps climbing out of the water and sitting on the tank. I'm worried he will try to escape! My snails behavior really freaks me out sometimes. Does anyone have any insight??? Why one of my snails floats 24/7 and the other keeps trying to climb out of the tank for no reason starting about 10 minutes ago when he never did before? I'm aware that mystery snails lay eggs above water... but I'm pretty sure all my snails are brothers.. I really do NOT want them to be banging and making snail babies, maybe I've anthropomorphized them too much, but still. Please let it be anything but that. [link] [comments]

Posted: 02 Aug 2020 08:53 AM PDT I'm just curious! I've seen both methods on the internet and I wonder why people choose one method over another. [link] [comments]

Posted: 02 Aug 2020 05:12 PM PDT I've been breeding my mystery snails for about a month now and the most amazing feeling is having different ages crawling around and eating together [link] [comments]

Posted: 02 Aug 2020 12:55 PM PDT I want to get a mystery snail and a nerite snail in the future but I have no idea what to feed them. I see alot if people feeding them green beans. I know people also make snello but I am not able to make that at the momment. I have two questions: 1. Can I feed them that all the time or just for a snack?
Thank you :) [link] [comments] |
