HELP! I just hatched a clutch of mystery snails and I didnt expect so many! What's the best steps for raising them to a point where I can give them away?

Had a pond snail infestation, now assassin snail infestation!

Posted: 02 Aug 2020 03:17 AM PDT

Title says it all. I had a bunch of rogue bladder and pond snails hitch a ride in my plants, and soon all of my tanks were covered in them. I bought 6 assassin snails and distributed them in the tanks, then went home to see family for the summer. When I came back, most of the snails were gone, but now they've been replaced with armies of assassin snails, easily more than 20/tank. They've even tried to harass my nerites, who're easily 3 times their size! How can I care for them until I find an adoption candidate and how can I keep their population in control in the future?

Edit: Forgot to mention, snail eating fish for control won't do, my tanks are filled to capacity and not big enough to house anything like a school of clown loaches.

What is this on my snail? Is it snail poop?

Posted: 01 Aug 2020 02:34 PM PDT

Just finished preparing some romaine lettuce, baby spinach, sweet peas, green bean, and a wax bean for my snails to eat this week

Does this look like snail eggs?? I just got these plants from H2O Plants

This will be my betta and snails new home . I’ve learned from my mistakes and I know a 3 gallon is not good enough .

Does anyone know what kind of snail this is? I accidentally acquired him through ordering a handful of plants. He's super small, I can't really point out any characteristics that would help identify him.

Assassin snails attracted to intake?

Posted: 01 Aug 2020 02:10 PM PDT

It's not unusual to have the sponge covering my filter intake holding 100s(?) of Assassin snail babies with more inside the filter.

Are they attracted to the intake, or do the just float around in the water and get sucked in?

It's weird that I only see them on the filter intake in my 75 gallon tank.

So I'm the kinda person who freaks out a bugs and parasites and that kind of stuff. So I was looking at my snails today and there is like a long rope of what looks to be small, oval shaped eggs(?). I don't know what they are. I don't know if they will affect my betta. I don't know if will hurt my snails. I don't know what they are. I don't know if they can affect me. I'm freaking out!!! I don't know what to do.... I didn't include a picture because I can't include a picture on the mobile website (I use the reddit website on my phone, my computer is broken.)

I’ve read a few things that say mystery snails can change gender and a few that say otherwise. What’s the truth?

Or can I not HANDLE the truth??

Snail ID?

Posted: 01 Aug 2020 10:32 AM PDT

Snail ID?

I need your guys' professional opinions, could these be young Nerite snails? The tank was dosed with a bit of saltwater around two weeks before they showed up; as a treatment for Neon tetra disease, so it's possible that the water was conditioned just enough so they could hatch.
