PSA... Don't buy a tank from Mario Vidakovic AKA Royal Custom Builds Posted: 18 Jul 2020 10:30 AM PDT We paid a pretty penny for a custom-built acrylic 200 gallon reef tank from Mario Vidakovic, also goes by Royal Custom Builds out of Clermont, Florida. The first tank has a bad seam that has been worsening over time and bowed in front. After weeks of back and forth Mario said he would build a replacement tank. We paid an additional $400 on top of the cost of the original tank to have him build it out of thicker acrylic. We got the replacement tank this weekend and noted right away the the work was sloppy. A HORRIBLE routing job on the overflow and glue drips everywhere. Well, at least those things could be cleaned up. What can't be fixed is that he BUILT THE REPLACEMENT TANK THE WRONG SIZE. And his response? "Oh, is 1/2" really that big a deal?" Yeah, it's a big deal for a tank you paid a crapload of money for and which now does not fit our stand. Now he won't refund our money - he says he needs to get both tanks back and sell them and THEN he will refund us when/if he sells them. So yeah. Do yourself a favor and STAY AWAY. Posted: 18 Jul 2020 10:19 PM PDT Hey guys new to this I've had my fluval evo 13.5 nano reef tank running for about 2 weeks now and my fish have been in there for only 6 days. When should I do a water change? I've been testing my water daily and everything is ideal. Cheers! [link] [comments]

Corals growing slowly and losing color, need help Posted: 18 Jul 2020 09:14 PM PDT Hi everyone, This is my first reef tank and it's been setup since February. I'm new to the scene and I feel like my corals are growing very slowly. I have corals that people say grow like wildfire, however mine dont fully open or "grow like crazy" and I cant figure it out. I hate looking at my half empty rock. My setup: 10 gallon reef tank -Filtration: No sump, Aquaclear50 filter with mechanical sponge filter, crushed liverock, chemipure, and Poly filter. -Powerhead: Hydor Koralia 425 powerhead. -Light: HIPARGERO LED Light 30W and 3W Cree Chips(running whites at 70% and blues at 100% ran about 12 hours a day) Parameters: Salt: 1.026 Ammomia: 0ppm Nitrite: 0ppm Nitrate: 10ppm Ph: 8-8.2 Alk: 11 Calcium: 440 Mag:1410 Livestock: Zoanthids: 7 Hammerheads: 2 Ricordia: 3 GSP: 2 Acans: 3 Hermit crabs: 5 Blood fire shrimp: 1 Fish: a firefish and a watchman goby Half my zoas are open while the other half is retracted, some are vibrant with color, some not. Infact my blue hornet lost its green rings. My hammerhead used to extend fully and looked so beautiful. Now its retracted and the tentacles look thin, small, and losing color as well. On the other hand, my ricordia and acans are fully extended and full of color. Can anyone help me solve the mystery as to why my corals aren't extending fully and why some corals are vibrant while others aren't? Thank you in advance! TLDR: corals not fully extending and not all of them are vibrant in color, need help Pictures: Tank picture Acans and ricordia Corals [link] [comments]
