Moving two goldfish

Posted: 04 Jul 2020 01:18 AM PDT

My father in law passed away this morning :( and he has left behind a couple of goldfish

We live 6 hours drive away. What's the best way to transport them safely? And what should we do when we get them to their new home?

Goldfish badly injured, sitting at bottom of tank and not eating.

Posted: 03 Jul 2020 02:52 PM PDT

Three days ago, my nephew got ahold of one of my goldfish and severly injured him. His fins are torn up and it appears some scales have been damaged too. I transported him to a quarantine tank, and he has been at the bottom since and is rapidly breathing.

I tried to see if he would eat, but hes completely avoidant of it. He has also been having trouble with his balance while swimming.

Earlier today, he seemed to excrete something concerning, it appeared to be a membrane of some sort.

I am completely unsure of what he pooped out, I'm afraid he could have severe internal damage. What can I do to help him? I've had this fish for 6 years, I'm devastated that he has to go through this.

Pond goldfish injury help - what is wrong?

Posted: 03 Jul 2020 01:46 PM PDT

My Oranda got trapped in the filter the other day and had a portion of her wen ripped. She did not seem phased or act out of character, still eating and swimming normally. The wound is now turning black, water changed and tank deep cleaned, unsure what to do for her/is it serious?

Comets & Guppies?

Posted: 03 Jul 2020 12:34 PM PDT

I have 8 comets that are currently around 3 inches in an approximately 300 gallon pond. I'd like to let guppies naturally breed in the pond. A) would the comets automatically decimate the eggs/fry? and B) would they mess with the adult guppies?

Thanks.

Thinking of Adding Aquariom salt to tank, what should I remove from filter?

Posted: 03 Jul 2020 04:57 AM PDT

Just what the title says, should I be removing anything from my filter or not? Just to make sure it doesn't ruin the filter's bio filtration stuff.

Holiday feeding

Posted: 03 Jul 2020 04:56 AM PDT

Hi I'm supposed to be going on holiday for about five days and I'm worried about my goldfish for a couple of reasons. Before I go into that I can feed them the day I leave and the day I come back so it's really only 3 days.would it be okay for them to get fed on the Monday i leave then the Wednesday then the Friday and then not starve them on Saturday as I usually do ?ik I'm being a bit over the top but I've only had them a little while and the last time I had goldfish(a really long time ago)I gave them one of the blocks and they just died and I don't know why and i was heart broken ,my mum said I should give them one of the blocks but i'm to scared that that's what killed the other 2 and this is the first time I've gone on holiday and left them . If I could i would take them with me but i obviously can't lol.😂thanks in advance
