Goldfish being weird

Posted: 27 Jul 2020 09:07 PM PDT

So first of all I'd like to say don't go bashing me for my tank size because that's the first thing that people complain about. Anyways. Does anybody else's goldfish go to the top of the water even though everything in the tank is good? My pH, no2, no3, kh, and gh balances are good, just cleaned the tank, did a water change, filter change cause it was due, they have an airstone. But every once in a while, one or both of the fish will go to the top of the tank and almost like peck at the air bubbles, I can never tell if they're gasping for air or if they're hungry, they both get 3 flakes, 3 times a day, they are both about 2.5 - 3" long and in a 10 gallon tank (don't bash me for having a 10 gallon, 1"=1 gallon and I plan on getting a bigger tank in the near future), so back to my question, should I be worried about my golfish?

Thought I'd give my black moor some of the spotlight. We call him fluffy (Gabriel Iglesias fans will understand). He's about a year old. Sorry for the bad quality photo.

Lopan is an absolute unit of a fish. Not sure what it is that’s boosting his growth curve...But wow. I hear ‘natural’ color variants are like that. The boys were all happy getting some wax worm treats this afternoon.

Can regular fantail goldfish live in a outdoor pond?

Posted: 27 Jul 2020 11:08 PM PDT

Hi I read around and I found conflicting information on fantail goldfish temperatures, some sources say it should be 70f+ while others say they can go all the way down to 60f. My patio pond(100g) is completely cycled, planted, shaded, and the temps seem to hover around 65f. I live in the Bay Area (California), so I luckily don't have particularly punishing winters/summers. Would fantails work in my situation?

What could be wrong with Bill? More in coments

Goldfish currently in quarantine, fins and tails were beat up. They healed up pretty well but these growths on it’s tail and top of its mouth have stuck around. Weary about putting it back in the main tank. Otherwise, acting normally. Any thoughts?

My goldfish (2) are currently living in an uncycled 3.5 gallon tank and I'm wanting to put them in a plastic tote (not exactly sure the size, but probably 6x the size of my current tank). Was wondering what I should do if I were to put them in the tote?

Question about ich.

Posted: 27 Jul 2020 03:11 PM PDT

I have a 60 gallon tank with 2 small commons and a shubunkin. The commons were sold as feeder fish so when i got them, they came from a crowded tank. On one of the commons I noticed a few white spots on the dorsal fin and back fin. It wasn't like covered in white spots but he has a few. Im starting to suspect that i brought back an ich infected fish. How do i know that it has ich? Should I use the salt method or buy the ich medication?

My goldfish keep ganging up on one and attacking it

Posted: 27 Jul 2020 06:42 AM PDT

I have a pond in my backyard with 6 regular feeder goldfish and one fancy (I think fantail?) Goldfish. For around a day now a few of the bigger ones have been chasing the fancy one around and biting at it and the poor little guy is too slow to get away. Any idea why they're doing this and what I can do to help? I feed them once a day and they have more than enough food in the pond to supplement that diet. Any advice on this would be appreciated cus I love the little guy 😂

We have 2 goldfish in a tiny plastic bowl, I want to get them a better aquarium with my limited pocket money.

Posted: 27 Jul 2020 09:58 AM PDT

I don't know if this is the right place to ask but I need some help about goldfishes.

So a year ago my sister begged my parents to buy fish, answer was clear: no way. A few months passed and suddenly my parents come home with a tiny plastic bowl/aquarium and 4 goldfish in it.

My mom never let us get any pets before, but apparently they met with someone selling lots of golfish for a really cheap price and he told them they could live in a tiny bowl, you only needed to change the water once in 2 days and give them food everyday. Next day 1 of them died and in 4th day one more died too.

It's been 9 months now, 2 are still alive, they are still the same tiny size and they're either comets or commons sorry I'm not sure. It breaks my heart everytime I see them. I don't know how many times they forgot to feed or change the water. They don't let me take care of them saying that I have a bad sleep cycle and I'm not responsible enough so I'd starve them for sure.

They don't plan on buying an aquarium, so I decided to do something with my pocket money. I'm a highschool student and I don't have a job so I don't have much money but I really don't want them to live in that terrible bowl. What can I do?
