help! crayfish loses leg after moult and cant get off its side Posted: 08 Jul 2020 10:41 PM PDT hello! so my crayfish just moulted yesterday in the early morning but he cant seem to get off his side! initially i thought he died after moult but he was breathing fine just that he was lying on his side motionless i tried to get it to stay upright but he would just fall on its side after awhile.. he did not eat his shell too. ive had him for a few months already and he had moulted twice so far without a problem i moved him to a separate container with the shell and i put some pellets inside but it doesn't seem like he ate anything today, i realised his back leg was missing but the rest of him seemed fine his other legs were working fine just that the body part was a little squishy- i think its due to him not consuming his shell yet so his body is still a little soft from the moult so im really not sure whats causing the buoyancy issues as i saw articles on google that crayfish are able to continue living without a claw even im really concerned bc he seems quite alive and i dont want him to suffer a slow death from starvation or anything! help pls also the shell is starting to smell a little do i leave it in the water with him or do i throw it away HELP PLS [link] [comments] |
