Lump on my axolotls mouth.. what do you think it could be?

I have no idea how old my axolotl is. I bought him two weeks ago and the seller didn’t know his age, what should I be feeding him?

Tank Cycling for Move

Posted: 25 Jul 2020 08:01 AM PDT

So I'm moving in a few days and I'm taking my axolotl with me, but I wasn't sure what to do about his tank. I've had him for 3 months exactly today actually ☺️ But, I was wondering what I should do about his tank when I move and what the best way to transport him would be. I will obviously have to empty his tank and I will have to cycle it again, but what should I do with him in the meantime?

Am I feeding my axolotl too much?

Axolotl hasn’t eaten for almost 3 weeks

Hi all! This is my first post in this group - and on reddit entirely (i'm getting really desperate) my axie called Melmin is over a year old & has been fed pellets, earthworms, blood worms, etc every three days or so for most of his life with no issue at all. In the last month or so I noticed him seeming more lethargic (eg he used to get excited when he saw me holding food for him, now doesn't even seem to notice it & doesn't turn is head) I took his parameters using the API freshwater kit:

Ph: 7.4/7.8 ammonia: 0 ppm nitrite: 0 ppm nitrate: 40-80 ??

& his temp is 16.5 degrees celsius

I know his ph & nitrate are too high. And i've began doing daily water changes to try & combat that, but i'm mostly worried about the fact he's refusing food. I've tried to check him for white spots but i'm not too well versed in what to look for, especially since his tank is in a darker corner of my room. I was recommended Aquadip crystal clear water medium & have ordered a pothos to try & remove excess nitrate

I don't think he's impacted as he's not tilted or bloated & not sure if he's constipated either as I think i've seen his poops. But I have noticed if he tips himself over hes a lot slower to get himself back around than usual which also makes me think he's pretty lethargic a

Any (kind) advice is really appreciated :(

I created a axolotl character named Axel for a character design class camp I’m doing! He is an adorable goofball. I can’t decide if he should be light pink and pink or yellow and pink.

Best way to upgrade tank?

Currently my axolotls are in a 29 gallon long. I bought a 40 gallon breeder for them. What are my option to get the tank set up?

I have just noticed these little worms in my tank. I have taken a few out already but I found more. No clue what they are or where they came from.. I'm guessing the plants that I put in.. idk what to do about this.

I want to get an axolotl

Posted: 24 Jul 2020 10:28 PM PDT

Hello! I have finally gotten enough space to have a new tank and I have decided to put an axolotl or 2 if space and their nature allows for it. I am planning on getting a 40 gallon breeder and putting 1 or 2 in there. Also, the room i intend to put the axolotls in stays a constant 65 degrees year round. I keep fish so I already have water conditioner and a general knowledge of keeping tanks clean. My 3 questions are:

  1. What other items besides a filter would I need.

  2. Also is there a general diet to feed them? I have seen people feed bloodworms and earthworms but can you feed them a pellet food with bloodworms and earthworms sprinkled in every other day?

  3. And is it possible to have 2 axolotls in the same tank and would adding anything else be acceptable like a goldfish, or a dojo loach? Thanks and have a nice day.

Sorry if anything I plan on doing is dumb lol, I've been called stupid in other subs
