Hi I'm a newbie at snail ownership and wanted some help making sure my snails survive and thrive! Through some internet sleuthing i think i have a batch of bladder snails and im keeping them in a little fish bowl with a betta fish and some aquatic plants. I'd appreciate any tips on care and breeding them. Thank you!

Shipping snails

Posted: 27 Jul 2020 11:01 AM PDT

I have a friend a few states over I wanna try to ship snails to in a month. I have some bladder, pond and rams I'm gonna try to get to them and I was wondering what was the best way to ship considering it's still summer. Most of my rams rn are tiny babies and I'm gonna try to wait until they get a bit bigger before shipping, do older or younger snails do better in shipping? It's supposed to essentially be a snail starter kit so I really wanna make sure everyone makes it safe and sound with a low price. I have a small box I was thinking maybe I'd put the snails into a bag or box with water and send them in the box maybe?

Is it just her personality? Snail help plz

I have three mystery snails, a brown and two blues. The brown (Gary) and one blue (named scar) are always out and about but the third one NEVER comes out of her shell. She's alive, occasionally she will be in a different spot, but I never ever see her do anything other than hide/sleep. I've sniff checked many times and she smells fine. Should I put her in a different tank? Could she just be unhappy? Thanks in advance

New Tank Has White Fungus on Driftwood. Will my Nerite eat it?

Posted: 27 Jul 2020 09:19 AM PDT

Hi, I'm setting up a new planted tank. I'm new to the hobby so I didn't realize I should boil driftwood before putting it in the aquarium, so now the wood is covered with a thick layer of white fungus (?). From what I have read, this fungus is perfectly safe for the tank's plants and critters, but I wanted to see if anyone else had any experience specifically with this fungus and snails.

For now, the tank's only resident is a single olive nerite snail (his name is Shelbert). Do you guys think Shelbert will do a good job of eating through this fungus? Is it possible that it will hurt him? Thanks in advance for any advice!
