- Help identifying please? I have many egg clutches from snails but two distinct colours. Are they from 2 types of snail? I posted another pic with the other color of eggs.

Strange mystery snail behavior? Posted: 20 Jul 2020 09:21 PM PDT Firstly, all water parameters are testing within range. Never had a mystery snail before, but think they're pretty awesome. Had my snail for about 3 weeks now. At first he was very active. The last few days he has been closed in his shell much more which I know can be due to a variety of reasons. Whats worrying me more though, is what he's doing when he comes out of the shell. He isn't moving around much if at all, but he's grabbing things...and like contorting. He'll grab a glob of substrate and then seemingly crush it as hard as he can into a ball. I put an algae wafer next to him, hoping to coax him out for some food. 24 hours later he finally came out and balled it up with his body and was actually trying to take it inside his shell with him and close his trap door but failed. Though he never brought any of it to his mouth. He's also not laying flat on the ground, but more on the ball of his shell. So when he comes out he's sprawling out like he's trying to get a grip. I thought maybe he was like a turtle on his back, so I moved him to be flat but he returned to his previous position pretty quickly. Any of this normal behavior? Anyone seen something like this before? [link] [comments]

Posted: 20 Jul 2020 11:07 AM PDT Hello friends! I have a 5 gallon unplanted tank that's almost done cycling (still can't get those pesky nitrites all the way to 0 haha) and I'm trying to figure out how to stock it. I move often (about once every six months) so I'm hesitant to plant, since I would have to uproot the plants every time I move. I'm leaning towards doing an all-snail tank, but I'm not sure what species to get. I like mystery snails for their size and color, but I've read conflicting info about whether 5 gallons is large enough for 1 mystery snail. If it changes anything, my tank is heated and I have a hang-on-back filter rated for 10 gallons. What species of snail do you guys recommend stocking an all-snail 5 gallon with? Will my baby snails survive in the aquarium? Posted: 20 Jul 2020 02:11 PM PDT I've just noticed several (like 10 or so) tiny snails, just a milimeter in size. My current snail had been living I'm my aquarium for a few weeks and I had no idea she was delivering babies, so I thought she'll be comfortable in the 15 liter aquarium, but now that there are a lot of youngsters, I'm not sure if they will even grow, let alone live with my other three fishes, so i will be grateful for any advice! Thanks) [link] [comments]
How should I care for purple mystery snails and horned snails and where can I find them? Posted: 20 Jul 2020 12:35 PM PDT Hey everyone! I'm looking into getting purple mystery snails and some horned snails for my future 20-30gal guppy tank. Do you know any shops online or in person that sell these specific snails? How about any forums or communities I can buy them from? Someone suggested I use cuttlefish bone instead of eggshells for calcium. Which works better or are they about the same. Also are there any important tips for raising these snails? I'd love to hear them. [link] [comments]
Posted: 20 Jul 2020 12:35 PM PDT A couple days ago, I saw one of my new black mystery snails on the other. Someone told me they might be breeding to look out for eggs. How long till I should see some eggs if they were breeding? [link] [comments]
Posted: 20 Jul 2020 09:46 AM PDT I have had my snail for a few days. This morning i found it floating at the top closed in its shell. I smelt it and it smells just like fish tank water. When I dropped it back in it fell to the bottom. It didn't come out yet. Is my snail dead? All the other days it was almost always out and going around because I have lots of algae. Posted: 20 Jul 2020 11:08 AM PDT So I made a ecosphere with pond water and a small bladder snail appeared. Today it went out of its shell for a bit and back in. Is it ok? [link] [comments]
Posted: 20 Jul 2020 02:43 PM PDT I thought it was a parasite, but on closer examination, my blue mystery's poop chute/penis sheath turned white. My guess is he got too frisky with a rabbit snail and suffered the consequences when it snapped shut.......ow. He's been resting the past day or so. What's the likelihood that he'll survive?
