Hi all,

My husband and I just purchased a home and we inherited a beautiful koi pond from the previous owners. The only problem is that we have no idea how to take care of the pond or the fish that live in it. I'm looking for any tips or resources to assist me in giving these fish proper care and a good, clean home. Thanks!

Possible ich? New koi owner, help please! (Pictures)

I have a couple youngsters I got who were said to have ich or been exposed to ich. They're in a lil pond all by their lonesome. I personally do not see any signs of ich, but want to be cautious. Do you see any signs of ick on them? Also, soes anyone know what species they are? They were rescues and my first koi I'm raising so I haven't a clue. I had a few questions because I've mostly salt with warm water fish.

Should I treat them for ich to be safe? Can you treat koi with salt as you can with other fish? Or do you recommend a specific brand of medication? I'm not worried about money. But I know I have aquarium salts on-hand. They are active during the day and at night they settle together at the bottom.

If not treating for ich are there any precautions you suggest I take? For example slime or stress coat. Also I know not the mix salt treatment with ich medication because of gill burning.

Advice please!

Weird foam on top of pond, wut do?

So, I have a relatively new koi pond witb 30 some-odd fish. We just recently had to do a partial water change due to ammonia levels being to high, and we also just got a new pump. Now, there's this mystery foam appearing on the surface of the pond, originating at the waterfall from the filter, where the water hits the pond. Have any of you seen this before?
