Koi and water plants near Minneapolis/StPaul Posted: 04 Jul 2020 07:33 AM PDT Is anyone familiar with where to find koi and/or water plants near the Twin Cities? I've tried a few pond stores and multiple nurseries, all with mixed results. Looking to expand my water plant portfolio and maybe add a few more koi. Any help, helps - thanks! [link] [comments]
Posted: 03 Jul 2020 01:32 PM PDT So, I just purchased a 6" showa and he fed for the first time this morning. A few hours after the feeding I noticed him shaking his head back and forth. He only did it for a second, and has since stopped. My first instinct as that it was parasites but he got a potassium dip right before we bought him. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to deal with it or know what might be causing it? Thanks! [link] [comments]
Posted: 03 Jul 2020 02:25 PM PDT So I have a natural koi pond id estimate around 25000 gallons or more. We have multiple species in the pond. 2 large channel catfish, sungish/bluegill, lots of frogs, goldfish and koi. Ive been noticing the bigger koi keep swimming up to the bank and pushing itself out of the water and starts sucking. Ive always thought they were doing this because they eat the algea that knocks lose. I know this is a carp traits as they bask in the shallows and do this exact thing. The water temps are fine we have done water tests and they all come back fine as well and the fish eat regularly and don't seem stressed. Ive read that this could be a sign of oxygen levels not being high enough. I can provide pictures if needed or anymore info you guys might need. [link] [comments] |
