The photo doesn’t quite do it justice, but I absolutely love the side view of my tank

Panels added (pre-stain stage). Going for a light wood stain color. Any suggestions for moss or plants to attached to the upper levels of the ghostwood? Figuring I can do some medium light plants since it's closer to my Finnex 24/7 planted lights.

Added some Buce red and moved some things around in my 7 gallon bookshelf tank. Soon to have CO2 injection to help keep the Buce and anubias nana petite nice and green. What do y’all think?

Set up my second ever tank today, learned a lot after the first one. Low-tech dirt tank, will be home to Yellow Fire Neocaridina someday.

Sick of gathering awesome driftwood only for it to be way too big for my tanks. Decided to give some small pieces some love and it turned out pretty cool! Can’t wait for the moss to grow out a bit.

Found this brilliant thread about cycling (that isn’t often talked about afaik) with a lot of awesome info/input from various seasoned aquarists and thought I would share.

https://www.ukaps.org/forum/threads/do-i-need-to-cycle-a-planted-tank.48450/

The main method of cycling a tank which is being discussed in this thread is along the lines of the walstad method/silent cycling. This is the way my friend had taught me who has been in the hobby for 30+ years. When I look for info online it's all about rigorous testing, fancy chemicals/elixirs, ammonia dosing, etc.

the key here is heavily planting an aquarium. I'd encourage anyone who is starting or even seasoned aquarists to read this thread as it has a lot of fascinating food for thought.

obviously won't work for everyoneor every situation but IMO planted tank is the way to go.
