Posted: 03 Jun 2020 03:13 PM PDT Hi All, This subreddit has been a great help to begin my journey from an educated stand point! My fish tank has been fishless cycling with ammonia and is not complete yet. This is teaching me patience and to curb my impulses. Anyway, I am hoping to be able to incorporate cherry shrimp, snails, and one small school of fresh water fish. I have a 12 gallon tank with odd dimensions (it was gifted to me and is taller rather then wider which I know is NOT ideal, and will not be a permanent home, just a home until I get established with a bigger more appropriate tank). I have silk plants and live (moss balls, java fern), and plenty of hideouts. Which small school of fish would you recommend for a beginner? I've considered all of the following with some mixed reviews regarding tank size, tank mates. Feeding habits are a non issue even with the pickier issues. My bigger concern is everyone has compatible water needs and no one will become lunch. Here are options I'd like to consider: Celestial pearl danio Scarlet Badis Male guppies Platys I am also up for additional thoughts and suggestions. I do not want over crowding OR lonely life. Thank you in advanced for help and information! [link] [comments] | ||
