Goldfish - Aquariums - I’ve been researching for weeks and just waiting to fall in love with the right goldie. Was picking up an air stone to add to my tank and spotted this babe. The store said it’s a baby oranda. Any tips for a very first aquarium/goldfish owner feel free to comment! Also taking name suggestions

After over a year, I finally cleaned the algea from the back glass. How there's sooo much more light. Fish look iridescent! 6ft 125gal. All goldfish from local Fairs, 2.5 - 5 years old)

One of my rescues, supposedly he's had this lump for years. A tumor or something like lymphocystis? Would like to add more fish to tank but won't if it's contagious.

Goldfish has these bumps on the side... what is it? They seem to emerge but are easily wiped off as well.... they appeared a while back but on both sides, and now they are only on this area.

My goldfish are aggressive

I made a stock tank pond and bought 4 comet goldfish. All healthy and doing fine. They always seem to be hungry and when I feed them some of the fish chases the other fishes away. At first, I thought they were mating but now I don't think that's the case. Has anyone experienced this?

Is a “mini” Water Lilly in a goldfish tank a good idea?

Fancy bottom sitting most of the time for months. What else can I try?

Hello all,

As per the title I'm not sure what to do now for my fancy/telescope that has always been very active and seems to have lost his interest in swimming about, for the most part.

Tank setup: 200L, 2 fancies, sand substrate, 2 small live plants, 3 large moss balls, 2 amano shrimp, Fluval FX4 with spout and sparybar for oxygenation. Fluval fresh & plant light on timer for 5/6 hours a day. Tank not in direct sunlight. 60% water change every 1-2 weeks. The FX4 is stocked with factory sponges and various bio media including 1kg of Biohome Ultimate. 20.5C/69F degrees today (summer). Feed is Tetra goldfish – Gold Japan, fed twice a day, morning and evening.

Parameters (today): PH: 7.5, NH3: 0, NO2: 0, NO3 :<5, KH:9, GH:13. These are very regular readings for the tank.

One thing worth mentioning is that the fish in question had a swim bladder problem around the time this behaviour started, although from memory he was doing a fair bit of bottom sitting before too. Treated with Aquacare swimbladder treatment and peas. He recovered quickly. If disturbed he does get up and swim about normally, eats, etc.

His buddy is unaffected and swims about happily; picking through the sand, swimming against the filter flow, etc.

My most recent action has been to upgrade to the Fluval FX4 as the previous canister filter had a 5x turnover p/h (now I'm at 13x which is great). He was much more active for a few days after installing the FX4 and slowly over a few weeks he has gone back to bottom sitting most of the day.

I think that's everything relevant. The only thing that I have come across is possibly flukes, but he doesn't match any of the other symptoms other than lethargy and bottom sitting. I would also presume that his buddy would display a lot of bottom sitting, which he doesn't do.

Any advice welcome, I'd like to see him back to his old self. Thanks for reading!
