My snail was moving on the water surface and I thought “what if I put some fish food in his mouth?” He got a good meal last night!

Made this time lapse early this morning. I wanted to see how much they would eat through the cucumber in 6 hours

Lake Snails as Pets; Advice Needed!

Posted: 27 Jun 2020 06:29 PM PDT

Hello, a little back story here, my daughter and I went on vacation with my family to a lake house and I let her take home some snails from the lake to keep as pets. I am now home from my vacation, and I have done some research. I got a 2.5 gallon aquarium for two snails. It came with a filter and I bought an air pump, air stone, and a water heater. I have only set up and have the filter and air pump running, along with the air stone. I put tap water in the tank, so I put the right amount of water conditioner in the tank, so I know that has to sit for 24 hours before adding fish, but what about snails? Here's where I need advice. I have learned about the nitrogen cycle that new aquariums have to go through. Do I have to wait before putting her lakewater snails in the tank? If so, how long? Or can I put the snails in after the 24 hours is up for the water conditioner? Please help!

Nerite snail not moving

Posted: 27 Jun 2020 10:30 AM PDT

I got a nerite snail yesterday and he hasn't moved since I put him in the tank. I can see him come out but he doesn't move and I really need him to eat my algae and he lives with a Male betta who doesn't bother him. How long until he starts moving and king his algae cleaning job lol
