RIP Bob Fenner

Sadly, reef aquarium author, pioneer, and overall incredible person Bob Fenner has passed away in his sleep. He was the creator of WetWebMedia, author of several books, including The Conscientious Marine Aquarist, and frequent participant in MACNA event. He'll be sorely missed.

Drink a beer for Bob! He'd want it that way!

I set up this tank in December (pic to show depth of sand). Tomorrow I’ll be transferring everything to a 45 gal. Should I rinse the sand or can I just put it in?

32.1 gallon setup help with light choice and stocking

Posted: 07 May 2020 09:07 PM PDT

Hi everyone! My partner and I are looking at setting up a tank. Based on size/budget/prerence we are going to go with a 32.1 gallon tank.

We'd like to ultimately stock it with

-A pair of ocellaris -A fire shrimp and nassarius snail(s?) -SPS coral or a bubble tip anemone (anemone much later if at all) -My partner also wants a mandarin dragonette, if that is reasonable for this setup? (Down the line if we seed with with copepods occasionally?)

We're planning on going with a conversion kit for a standard 20G tank.

I'm not sure what to go with for lighting options. It seems like such a complicated topic between the different light types, tank size/depth, etc.

Reef Tank Lighting

Posted: 07 May 2020 10:26 PM PDT

I'm looking for suggestions/solutions in regards to lighting a 6ft long (72x24x24)180gallon tank for mixed corals. I was eyeing 3 x AI Hydra 32s. Would this be a good solution? Do you all have experience with any other systems? I've watched a lot of videos but they are all based on cubes or 4ft long tanks.

Thank you!
