- Hello all! An 8 gallon is the most I can afford right now, but I definitely will upgrade as soon as I’m able to! There’s two ranchus and one nerite. My ranchus are about 2 inches each right now. Apart from regular water changes, is there anything I should do to ensure my fish are comfortable?

Posted: 30 May 2020 12:17 AM PDT Please don't flame me to hell and back for this. I got a pair of common goldfish a few months ago and initially had a 20 gallon setup. After doing some further research I've learned their space requirements and I wanted to know what might be my best option. So far they've both been healthy, no fin rot, water quality has been fine. I do 25% water changes every other day to make up for the tank size. Currently they're both around 2 and a half to 3 inches in size and I have a 30 gallon fluval filter. How long do I have before I need to be scared about them stunting and what would be good options for me for getting them an upgrade? [link] [comments]

First post. Husband won goldfish. Help! Posted: 29 May 2020 09:43 PM PDT First goldfishies ever... Help. https://imgur.com/gallery/S40HTXJ First reddit post. Sorry for grammar. I don't know what I'm doing with English even after seven years. I'm dumb. Husband won goldfish in december. That means I've been taking care of them since December. Tell me everything you see thats wrong. I love these guys! Money is no problem. Big fish questions: Do they look ok? Bigger tank? Big bill is getting pretty big. At what point do I need to get him a bigger tank? Small grim almost died because of water quality. I bought a big filter and change water twice a week now. Should i change it once a week? Filter too big? How to get them to eat veggies? I tried tearing up plane lettuce but the pieces just floated. I feed them aqueon pellets and dried blood worms sometimes. Are frozen peas from the store ok if i heat them up in the microwave? Do they need gravel or something finer? [link] [comments]

Posted: 29 May 2020 07:52 PM PDT Hey guys. So I recently acquired a Thai black ranchu and noticed it's wen covers both of it's eyes. Currently he's kept at my hospital aquarium for a 2 weeks quarantine before moving it to my main aquarium. The thing is I'm afraid it won't be able to catch any food because my other fancy goldfish can actually see their food. Should I perform a wen trimming surgery for this black ranchu in order to move it or just let it be? In case surgery is needed, is there any tutorial for ranchu wen trimming? I've just seen oranda wen trimming videos so far. [link] [comments]
Posted: 29 May 2020 10:52 AM PDT I have a fantail goldfish that I'm going to be rehoming to a huge (5k gallons) koi and goldfish pond pretty soon. I'm excited for him to get more space, but he's coming from a tiny 10 gallon tank so he's stunted, and he hasn't been around other goldfish before. I'm worried about him getting pushed around by the other goldfish and koi that are bigger and healthier. Has anyone had this experience before? Am I right to be worried, or should he be fine? Thanks guys!! [link] [comments]
[Urgent Goldfish Help] Possible Parasites? Posted: 29 May 2020 03:17 PM PDT I looked into my tank today and saw that my fantail goldfish was pooping out a white stringy/light green poop. I recently got 3 corydoras and 1 dwarf gourami in my tank 2 days ago. They all look healthy though, everyone is eating fine and my goldfish has been eating too, but I realized he's been like "yawning"/opening his mouth wide like 5 times a day. Also ever since I got my goldfish he has had this red spot on his scale. Any clue what could be causing this and any treatments? Ive had him for 7 months. Water Parameters: 7.3 pH 0 Ammonia 0 Nitrite 10 Nitrate 74 F Temperature 200 Hardness ppm Red Dot On Scale Picture https://imgur.com/a/Rdp8SKD (Its right above the fin, it looks like a missing scale but its not it's reddish orange color and he's had it since I got him 7 months ago.) Stringy White Poop: Another Question: Would it be smart to dose the aquarium with Hikari PraziPro? I can buy it if necessary. [link] [comments]

Posted: 29 May 2020 01:59 PM PDT So i bought two fish about 2 weeks ago and after one week the brain was picked on so bad because pinky was nipping him. Now pinky is like a maniak. He swims around like crazy he tries to be stuck everywhere. It is like he wants to commit suicide. The other day i heard splashes so i looked at him and he just layed on my filter zo i lowered my filter. Now he tries to get under the filter luckally there is enough space. I have no idea why he does this he wants to be stuck in everything. Does anybody knows what i can do? [link] [comments]
Posted: 29 May 2020 07:57 AM PDT To give full details: I have two 1.5. - 2.0 Inch Orandas in 200l tank. Recently finished fish-in cycle. Maintained good water parameters doing water changes daily during that time and still doing even though Ammonia and Nitrite is zero. I found nitrate was high last week and started doing increased water changes and couple of days back nitrate was zero and yesterday it was 20. No my question is last few days I noticed that after giving food (Rapashy Gel food (10 -12 2mm pieces per feed between the two fish 2 times a day) or tetra pallets maximum 9 pallets each occasionally) one of the fish come to top in particular area try to eat minute algae particles or gulping air I am not sure what exactly S/he trying to do. After about an hours returns back to normal behaviours of grazing. Second one do this very rare. I added some plant before couple of weeks and looks like first it turns to brown and now there are new green leaves coming. I have filter Fluval U4 set up at top output to mix air. Both of the fish look healthy so is this normal behaviour or something is going wrong? [link] [comments]
