my oranda patricia, she’s got a lot to say

Bluebird has had this patch on him for about 3 days now. I’m assuming this is normal wen growth. I’ve been applying some herbal medicine directly to it using a q-tip once a day. Should I be concerned at all, or is this normal and he’ll heal over time? Thank you!

White water

Posted: 23 May 2020 04:05 PM PDT

I noticed that the water in my tank looks white and I have not started the cycling yet and I dont have any fish because I am waiting to the water tests to arrive I have already applied the antichlorine like a week ago also I dont have the filters on, the tank doesnt have any direct source of light so i dont think it is algae but I used the tank before and is not new, when I was misinformed I had a very neglected tank with a axolotl when he died I drained the tank and removed the sand obviously it was full of poop and the bottom the old filter and the lid were slimy so I cleaned the aquarium without soap and many months later I wanted to try again but this time doing all the research and avoid so I filled it again but I had to drain it again because I accidentaly used a cube with soap so the next day I filled it and applied the anti chlorine so the problem maybe be related to the past neglect I should be worried? And what I can do? Sorry for the bad english tho

fry feeding

Posted: 23 May 2020 12:07 PM PDT

my eggs are really close to hatching so i decided to set up a container to hatch brine shrimp with saltwater. i know that changes in salinity affect freshwater fish so i was wondering how i can feed the shrimp to the fry.

Fancy goldfish tank size confusion

Posted: 23 May 2020 05:42 AM PDT

Hello everyone! My dad and I have recently become interested in aquarium keeping, and if our interest persists until the end of the year we'll consider purchasing fish. We would both love to keep goldfish, especially something like orandas, but are a little confused about tank sizes.

We've got a shady inlet in the wall of our living room, and a 100x50x50cm tank would do nicely there. This holds 250L (about 55 gallons) of water. Would that be enough for 2 fancies? Lots of sites are giving mixed responses... I'd be very concerned about stunting or hurting the fish if it was too small... I'll continue to research while we await responses!

Sorry if this is too frequently asked, I'm just really enthusiastic about giving some lovely fishies a good home. Thanks in advance for any responses :)

Tankmates for bubble eyes?

Posted: 23 May 2020 01:51 AM PDT

Im thinking of putting a bubble eye or two with my two lionhead (one no eyes, one "normsl"), two one eyed fish (ranchu, pearlscale) .

Tank size isn't an issue as have plenty of space, experienced keeper in "normal" fancies. Just wanted some jdeas and inspirations Tia
