Baby Axolotl Gills

Posted: 07 May 2020 01:20 PM PDT

My axolotl doesn't have poofy gills like the ones you see in pictures. He's 2 months old. Is he supposed to have large gills, or is it normal that they are small?

Cut on wood

Posted: 07 May 2020 09:18 AM PDT

I have a 6 inch axolotl that seemingly got cut by one of my pieces of spider wood that I have since removed.

The cut is more of a scrape, but I see there are possible splinters in his head. They are not big either, but I'm not sure what to do about it because there's no way he lets me pull them out of his head.

Thanks in advance for any advice you can give me!

Hi everyone I'm new here but I was just wondering if anyone knew if the laws have changed around keeping axolotls in British Columbia Canada as I'm wanting to get more at some point
