| What kind of snails do you think I have? Posted: 25 May 2020 09:27 PM PDT Both my first and second tank have unique kinds of "stowaway snails" that I'm guessing hitched a ride on plants. I've checked the snail identification links but I'm still not really sure what kind they are. I've been leaving them to roam free in both tanks and haven't noticed any issues from either, but I'm curious what kind of snail they could be. Any info would be appreciated, thanks. Both tanks have 2 of the same kind: First type/tank: https://i.imgur.com/PWjz0I7.jpg https://i.imgur.com/XqcGBsF.jpg Second type/tank (these seem to be growing in size a lot faster): https://i.imgur.com/O3Yyx3p.jpg https://i.imgur.com/5OGCy8I.jpg [link] [comments] | ||

| Is there a good way to mark the shells of MTS? Posted: 25 May 2020 02:51 PM PDT I've got malaysian trumpet snails spread across two containers (a 5gal tank with a couple zebrafish, and a 1gal dedicated snail bowl). I want to move some of the larger snails from bowl to tank, but I'd like to track which individuals were born where. Is there a safe & effective way to mark their shells? A certain kind of paint, or something? And can they stay out of the water long enough for whatever I use to dry? For the record, I've got no concerns about spreading disease because they all came from the same parent (it was originally in the bowl, but I moved it to the tank later). [link] [comments] | ||
