Mystery snail laying eggs

What type of snail is the black one?! My boyfriend bought it for me while I was at work. I’ve only had mysteries, but this one looks different!

Nerite always hiding

Posted: 12 May 2020 01:44 AM PDT

I have a nerite and ever since I got her she always hides under the substrate (assuming because I can't find her anywhere else) she rarely comes out. I want to give her veggies to eat but she likes to stay hidden so I'm concerned that she isn't eating enough. Will she be okay?

My snail just layed more eggs even though I took the male out. Can they fertile?

So I currently have 3 snail egg sacks one was layed on may first, the second one was layed on the fifth and while that snail was laying the eggs I took the male out. This morning I woke up and there was another sack of eggs! Could these eggs be fertile?

10 gallon shrimp tank

Posted: 11 May 2020 11:31 AM PDT

I am in the very long process of cleaning out our old 10 gallon and re-establishing it as a shrimp tank. It will be gravel and planted. I think before i had nitrite snails in it and they did pretty well. Is there another type of snail I can put in there that will be hardy (we have hard water which I try to keep under control) and clean well. I have 2 other tanks that I'll get up and running soon so population control is fine because if I get too many snails i can transfer tanks they will all have similar set ups. (20 gallon tall and a 5 gallon)

Advice on snail species for a new tank

Posted: 11 May 2020 11:02 AM PDT

Hi there! I'm currently cycling my tank and trying to decide on what to put in as a CUC. It'll be a guppy and kuhli loach tank, it's planted with a sand substrate. I was looking into MTS for their sand turnover but hesitant when I read everyone here complaining about how fast they breed, and I know they breed asexually so getting just one isn't a possibility. Are there any other species that turn over sand and maybe don't breed out of control?

Also looking at species for general clean up with any algae or dead plant matter

Thanks in advance!
