Please help, I have many koi and "fancy goldfish" (sorry I don't know exactly what they are). 4 of my fish have developed large white spots. 1 over both of its eyes, 2 with bumps on their side, and this one with a big bump on its dorsal fin. I dont think its Ich but not sure what it is.

KOI HELP NEEDED

Posted: 03 May 2020 03:13 PM PDT

For some reason or another my nitrite levels are always through the roof. I had larger koi in here and had to do a water change after a rain which caused sap from the roof above to turn the water black. After changing out about 70% of the water the next day the fish were dead. I let the tank sit and filtered it out and had clean water for about a month after that with no fish in it. A couple days ago I bought 100 koi fry 1"-3" and have so far found about 16 dead (3-5 per day). I did a 30% water change to not have the same issue of shocking the fish as I did with my first koi. The problem is the tank is 720 gallons and I live in a neighborhood dumping out that much water is very hard to do. I have a filter with a UV light and constant running water. I make sure to not over feed the fish. So I can't figure out why my nitrite is always so high. If anyone would be able to help me with this I would appreciate it.
