My 75 gallon tank leaked, how long can my 3 fancy goldfish (~3”) spend in a storage tote (~30 gal) without harm. New 75 gallon acrylic tank won’t be here until “early may”

Just moved my comet goldfish, Suki, to a 20 gallon tank from a 10 gallon. I added water conditioner and a bacteria supplement when I set the tank up. I tried doing as much as I can from the book, but she seems really stressed out and usually hangs out in this corner. Will continue in comments.

Swim bladder treatment. Is it safe?

Posted: 21 Apr 2020 11:18 PM PDT

My goldfish has started to stay on the bottom of the tank. His side is slightly bulging and he seems to be opening and closing his mouth a lot. He is in a tank with three other goldfish who are much bigger than him and I have now moved him to a tank of his own. I'm presuming it's swim bladder but my question is what to give him if anything. Every medication seems to kill someone's fish if you read the reviews and I don't know if I want to take that risk. Any advice on what I should do would be greatly appreciated. Oh and I should mention he's coming up for twenty years old so he's had a good innings.

My goldfish isn't going to recover from swim bladder disease.

So, in this time of limited resources, what would be my best way to put it down? I don't have clove oil, I have no idea where I'd get it, and I'd rather not run around town looking for it.
Yes, I've tried resolving it. Not feeding, feeding peas, water changes and medication. It's only slowly gotten worse. He's just floating at the top on his side and not even trying to eat now. Thank you for your help.

Is 300 litres enough for two fantails and a black moor?

Water Too Soft?

Posted: 21 Apr 2020 02:54 PM PDT

I have my goldfish in a 20 gallon right now and I'm about to move her into a new 75 gallon tank. I used some test strips (I know they're not very reliable but they're all I can get right now) to test the parameters and the water in the new tank is very soft compared to the water in her current tank. What can I do to raise the hardness? Or would she be fine just being transitioned over, thanks!

Before I get my red ryukin goldfish I want to know if putting the tank in my room with my tv is something that would negatively affect my new little buddy

Posted: 21 Apr 2020 09:22 AM PDT

I want to put the tank in my room next to my bed so I can be near them alot but I have a pretty small room and a tv not to far away from where the tank would be. Should I rethink getting a fish because I'm not sure where else I would put it.

Sick Ranchu fish

Posted: 21 Apr 2020 03:10 AM PDT

Hi, i'm new to reddit so apologies if this is in the wrong section.

My ranchu seems to have a mouth injury, his lips are swollen and seems to have white bumps on them (doesn't look like cotton wool), apart from the occasional dart across the tank, he seems to be fine - eating normal, not gasping or bottom sitting.

Any suggestions as to what may be wrong with him?

Any advice for a first time fancy goldfish owner?

Posted: 21 Apr 2020 01:02 AM PDT

Hey all, I'm a young guy who LOVES fish and I'm going to try my hand at keeping some ranchus and orandas. Any advice? I already have everything set up for them (appropriate tank size, clean water, good food, etc) so I'm not worried about that. But as far as care goes, and preventing disease (since fancies such as ranchus are prone to more diseases), is there anything I should do?

Thank you so much! I just want to be the best dad I can be for them.
