- I thought you guys might appreciate this x-ray of my goldfish
- SIP our first ever fish, OG. He held out longer than I could've imagined, took a turn for worse last night after over a year of living with this tumor. Never seen anything like it, Happy Easter Goldfish fam.
- Look at this- it's my babies :3
- Help for my fish until their new aquarium arrives? How to save them? More details below.
- Look at these cute plugs
- Every time I try taking picture be like:
- 5 months difference :) Happy Easter!!
- What is wrong with my goldfish, is she dying?
- They go so fast!!
- Tried every trick in the book I could think of to save this guy. I’m not giving up on him. Posting a picture of his physical symptoms (notice the small white worm like thing poking out his head. every morning, I see one that eventually dislodges from his head). What is it?
- Pyke got a home upgrade today, he’s never been in the main tank since he got real sick and had to live in the QT tank for a loooong time. He’s a bit taken aback but slowly adjusting !
- 3 fancies in a 30 gallon?
- Bubble Eye Surgery?
- Little guy used to be all white with a red spot on tail and on eyes. There goes that!
- Hi! I'm fairly new to this world about fish and aquarium. The picture you see here is my sister in laws. She recently moved and left me with her tank. I want to be the best owner I can and wanted to get some pointers on the best care of Gilbert the goldfish.
- Can I use a different water source straight away or should I get them used to it?
- Ornada or Ranchi
- How much to Feed to Oranda!
- It seems like my goldfish developed some kind of tumor, can anyone help?? Looks pretty bad. It looks like he is loosing scales too. Sorry for the bad photo, I'll be happy to share more over imgur if needed, thank you very much!

| Posted: 12 Apr 2020 06:26 PM PDT Before I get into my post, I am aware this is not ideal. Pease read the whole post before commenting. A friend wants to get rid of his 3 fancy goldfish and offered them to me because he knows I keep fish. All our LFS are closed because of COVID so he can't take them anywhere else. They're currently being kept in a 10 gallon. He has a red cap oranda, a black moor, and a third which I think is a ryukin. He said he got them back in January, so they're not full grown yet. I was not aware he had the fish otherwise I would have advised he get a bigger tank when getting them. From what he's told me, he keeps up with water changes and the fish seem healthy despite the tank size. I have an unused 30gal I could put them in with a tetra whisper IQ filter for a 60gal. He said he would give me the filter media from his tank so I wouldn't need to cycle. If I do biweekly water changes with help from the stronger filter, would this be acceptable for the three of them? Again, I'm aware a 40gal or more would work much better, but because of COVID I don't have funds to go out and buy a totally new tank. I'd like to know your opinions before I agree to take the fish. | Posted: 12 Apr 2020 06:49 AM PDT Hi there, I work in a pet store and for the last month or so we've had this one bubble eye in particular whose 'bubbles' are way too big and as a result he floats vertically head down due to being too buoyant (I'm assuming) and really struggles to swim and eat. Fortunately I was able to bring him home after mentioning his situation to my managers. I should probably also mention that his bubble sacs are wayyyy bigger than any of the others that were with him and one has begun to collect some kind of white particulates? (Looks like tiny white grains of sand) I think he was slowly starving due to being outcompeted but my problem now is this: Do I attempt to pop the bubbles and do my best to prevent infection or leave him as is and alter his care accordingly? It seems like such a poor quality of life and I personally don't really agree with breeding them to be like that (tho know pretty much all fancy goldfish and goldfish in general are artificially selected and bred to look a certain way). I know the sacs are filled with fluid and that they may sometimes grow back. His deformities are so extreme it's almost painful to watch him flounder around to eat and stay upright (if he is motionless for more than a few seconds he just floats up into a vertical/head down position). Any advice or insight is greatly appreciated! [link] [comments] | ||

| Can I use a different water source straight away or should I get them used to it? Posted: 12 Apr 2020 01:28 PM PDT due to the quarantine, we're staying in our house in Georgia until it's over and we had to bring our goldfish. We live in the Florida panhandle and where we're staying is in the Atlanta area, so can I use the different water right away or should I do it in small doses? [link] [comments] | ||

| Posted: 12 Apr 2020 08:56 AM PDT Please help, I need to understand how much to feed to Oranda ( I have Two under 2 inch long). I am using Tetra Goldfish Gold Japan pallets about three times a day in small number. I need to understand how many pallets should I feed per day ? Tank cycle is still not complete so I am changing water twice a day to keep Ammonia close to zero. We were misguided by pet shop on starting the tank and tank size. I should be able to get new 200l tank this week but I guess I have to cycle it for many weeks? or I can use that tank in couple of week after adding good bacteria? I am new to this, but I am doing my best to keep them well! [link] [comments] | ||
