Spixi snail egg hatching

Posted: 22 Apr 2020 01:57 AM PDT

I have my spixi snail laying egg clutches all over the place and I want to hatch them, the problem is the other snails eat the eggs before they can hatch. Spixi snails unlike other Ampullariidae (mystery snail is an Ampullariidae) lay eggs underwater on plants or rocks. I thought of putting them into another container. My question is "Do the eggs need an oxygen pump? because I don't have another one and I don't really have the money to buy one right now.

What to do with Fallen Mystery Snail Eggs??

What to do with Fallen Mystery Snail Eggs??

Hi everyone, I'm a mystery snail newbie. My sister got me one as a present 5 months ago and we assumed it was a male. But, to my surprise, today it layed eggs! I went to feed my betta fish and saw the snail up top, but didn't realize she was laying eggs. When I lifted the top, it must have startled her because she fell to the bottom and the eggs literally popped out! It seems like she started making them at the top, as you can see in picture, but there are some on the bottom now. What should I do? Should I removed them or let nature take it's course??

Cycling tank and Nerite arrival

Posted: 21 Apr 2020 09:21 AM PDT

I'm just cycling my new semi planted 10g tank and only a few days into the process.

I assume that it won't be time to introduce a pair of Nerites until the entire nitrogen cycle is complete, and I'm patient. But any advice? Are they more delicate? Should I add some tetras first before getting these guys in there?

Thanks!
