My mystery snails shell is eroding and I feel helpless

Posted: 10 Apr 2020 02:52 PM PDT

I've had a mystery snail in a 20 gallon long tank with my betta fish for about five months now and I feel like I've tried everything under the sun to try and get him to eat ANYTHING that contains a good dose of calcium and he just won't. I've tried Tums, human calcium supplement, Cuttlebone, egg shells, leafy greens, etc. He won't touch them. They lay untouched at the bottom of the tank. I've ever tried weening him into eating any of the above and he still won't. He will only eat algae or algae wafers. I feel like I'm at a loss as to what I should do, everyday I see his shell erode a little more and I don't know how I can help him. Does anybody have any advice on what I should do for my poor little snail friend? Thank you

My tap water tested positive for copper...

Posted: 10 Apr 2020 05:57 AM PDT

Hello, snail keepers. I very much want to get a snail for the tank I've just cycled, but I had my tap water analyzed and the results showed 1.0ppm copper present. How much copper is too much copper for inverts? I wanted to make sure I was bringing a snail into an appropriate, safe environment so I tested prior to choosing one. Any advice is appreciated. TIA.

Tank size and rabbit snails

I currently have a ten gallon tank. I hd one nerite and one rabbit snail along with roughly ten tetras, this was September.

A few weeks after getting the rabbit snail I found a little one, and then a second. Ok. Cool. The three of them are doing well along with the nerite and fish.

Last week I found another baby rabbit snail and this morning another.

How many of these guys will I be able to keep in this ten gallon tank?
