Got a cute snail pic after some tank maintenance. I hope you all enjoy this pic as much as I do.

Any thoughts on this? He was almost completely out of his shell when I found him floating and he was curled like a C. Now that I put him in the cup he is no longer floating, he’s sitting at the bottom and about half in half out (antennas and face is in the shell)

Legal Advice

Is there any law against selling Nerite snails on eBay without a permit? I would be selling these only in the US.

I would also consider adding a plant or two for shipping with the Nerite snails.

Thank you

Ramshorns snails not breeding

Posted: 11 Apr 2020 03:49 PM PDT

Hi, I started off with 6-7 ramshorns about 7-8 months ago, but I haven't seen adult ones since then. The big old ones started dying recently (probably naturally, considering that other big original ramshorns are still alive?) but they still don't seem to have reproduced yet.

A single pond snail came with the original shipment of ramshorns, and those have reproduced a bunch and now number in the dozens in the tank. Some amphipods (scuds) must have come with plants as well, and those have also reproduced a lot.

Is there some reason that my ramshorns aren't reproducing? Googling tells me their eggs shouldn't be eaten by the pond snails, but maybe the scuds are eating the snail eggs? Which is odd, because the pond snails seem to be reproducing fine.

Hi. Im intrested in keeping smails. I have a few questions to ask you all! How much water would one snail need. Do they need a heater. Are they easy to maintain and any other info you can share to a complete newbie!

Thanks. Fionn.
