| Both of my snails left my tank. Help. Posted: 20 Apr 2020 01:50 AM PDT I found them both and they are alive. I found one after a few hours and the other after two days. I know they are alive because they don't smell and they are emerging slightly from their shell. Snails are fed green beans every few days. They were fed a green bean the day they escaped. They have cuttlebone in their filter tank. 5.5 gallon top fin tank Aqueon 3 setting clip on light Housed with betta that watches but doesn't nip at them. GH 30 KH 0 PH 7 NO2 0 NO3 20 Why did they leave? What can I do better? [link] [comments] | ||
| How do you remove a deceased snail from the shell? Posted: 19 Apr 2020 01:48 PM PDT I just lost my two mystery to a low PH swing due to a water issue in my area and I was wondering how to remove the deceased snail from the shell? I've had these snails for over a year and plan on making necklaces out of their shells so I can always keep them close by, I just have to remove one of the bodies. Operculum is only partially attached but being a bitch to remove. He's most definitely dead; no movement when I touched his shell or rubbed at the trapdoor, and no resistance when I pulled the door open. He was a very shy snail and protested touch by hiding the moment anything touched his shell. Anyone have ideas? [link] [comments] | ||
