Posted: 24 Mar 2020 10:36 PM PDT I'm looking to add some cherry shrimp to an established aquarium. I've tried before, but I've never had luck. This is my last attempt, so I want to get this right. My tank is a 7 gallon long, fully planted with dwarf hair grass and miscellaneous stem plants. I'm planning on adding some java moss, maybe to a large wood piece, since I heard they love that. My parameters are as follows : Nitrates: 0 ppm (mg/L) Nitrites: 0 ppm (mg/L) pH: 6.0-6.5 KH: 0-20 ppm (mg/L) GH: 0 ppm (mg/L) Should I change any of these parameters? And if so, do you recommend any products or methods? I'm planning on drip acclimating them this time since I only left them in the bag for 15 minutes in the tank last time. How many should I be getting to establish a colony? Is there a way to sex them, or some golden gender ratio I should follow? I really don't care about grade or color, just having a colony is enough for me. Do you guys feed them anything special? I've been letting them eat algae and the like, along with some bottom feeder pellets. In short, is there anything in this process that I'm missing? Any insider tips to follow? I always hear that cherry shrimp are not difficult to keep and breed, but I've never been successful with them. I know I've asked a lot of beginner questions, but I've been researching and I can't really make sense of it. [link] [comments] | ||
