(Question) Normal Melanoid vs. Lavender Melanoid

Posted: 01 Mar 2020 08:23 AM PST

I'm proud to say that I'm about to purchase my first axolotl next week! The tank's all set up, everything is good chemically, and I'm pretty much prepared other than experience (which is why i joined this subreddit). However, I was browsing the site I'm planning on purchasing my axie from and I noticed that both of the morphs I'm considering are on sale. Is there a big difference between your normal melanoid and a lavender melanoid, or are they pretty much the same fully grown?

Is it weird that my axolotl keeps chasing its reflection in the glass or normal?

Added some shrimp to the tank. Mudkip has eaten one but hopefully they’ll be able to help work with keeping the tank nice and clean. Also starting to see some golden flecks on our little guy, very exciting
